DeAnna, President. Ken, Vice-president. Susan, Secretary. Sandi, Treasurer

  Hello GPAA members and visitors,

Our meeting was called to order by President DeAnna at 6 pm. We all welcomed 12 visitors and a total of 76 people attending. DeAnna thanked everyone for showing up at the meetings. We have a great turnout and the Las Vegas Chapter is one of the largest Chapters of the GPAA. Also, we have the least complaints. Our 50/50 was won by Mitch for $140 and a bag of dirt was won by George. Congratulations to you both. Jake and Allen reported on their 1100 mile trip. Jake stated that Goldfield was an awesome place. Gold Point and Lida have good gold. Tonopah has a wonderful museum there. In Rye Patch they met another club there. That area is loaded with quartz. Spring Valley has good gold. He would like to do another trip at the end of the month. If you are interested you can contact Jake at 326-9043 or email him at propsector1@cox.net  DeAnna thanked them both for doing the trip. Chops made a photo album for the chapter. If you have any photos to add, please bring them to the meeting and they will be placed in the album for everyone to see. Also, email Doug at pannere10@aol.com to add pictures on the web site at www.lvgpaa.org  August 7th is the picnic. It will be held at Cold Creek. DeAnna and Tommy are headed out to Cold Creek on Thursday August 5th. Please let DeAnna know if you are going to the picnic and how many in your party. The chapter will supply barbeque beef and pork, chicken, hot dogs, cole slaw and condiments. Watermelon and fruits also. If you would like, you can bring a dish to share, but please let DeAnna know what you will be bringing. We may not be able to use a grill because of the fire there. There will be games to play and lots of door prizes. This year there will be no metal detecting contest. Please bring chairs, tables, shade and drinks. This area is good for riding ATV's. Also as a reminder to wear sneakers and sun block. Visitors are always welcomed at all our outings and picnics but please don't go to the claims without a member. With the GPAA, they have claims all over the country. Members are willing to help each other out by sharing equipment and teaching newcomers about the equipment. For next years picnic, DeAnna put in reservations for the Fox Fire picnic area.DIRECTIONS to COLD CREEK: take the 95 North to Prison Rd. turn left on Prison Rd. follow the road until you see the orange buckets on the right.  DeAnna and Tommy will be in their 40 ft trailer. If you would like to camp out, please call her at 452-7866 or 452-1049 or her cell 286-5017.
